Verbazo Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Verbazo is a Spanish verb conjugation training app made by Outrun Cyber Dynamics LLC ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information the app handles, what little of it ever leaves your device, and the choices you have. It applies to the Verbazo mobile app on iOS and Android.
If you have any questions, contact us at hey@outrun.xyz.
2. Summary at a Glance
- No account. Verbazo has no sign-up, login, or user profile. We do not know your name, email address, or identity.
- Your learning data lives on your device. Your practice history, answers, and review schedule are stored locally, not on our servers — we don't have any.
- Anonymous product usage data, with an off switch. The app sends pseudonymous usage and diagnostic data to our analytics provider so we can improve it. You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Analytics.
- No ads, no tracking across apps, no selling of data. Ever.
3. Data Stored Only on Your Device
Verbazo keeps your learning data in local databases on your device — your practice history and answers, your placement test record, your review schedule, and your settings. This detailed data is stored locally, is not uploaded as such, and we have no way to browse it. When you delete the app, it is deleted with it.
When analytics is enabled (Section 4), usage signals derived from your activity — such as general progress or feature-usage indicators — may be included in the analytics data described below.
4. Usage Analytics
To understand how Verbazo is used and to improve it, the app collects product usage data, which is processed by third-party analytics service providers acting on our behalf. This is data about how the app is used — for example which screens and features are used, how you move through the app, general learning-progress and engagement indicators, and basic technical information such as app version, device model, operating system version, and language/region settings. The specific data points may evolve as the app does; they always stay within this scope: product usage and diagnostics, nothing more.
Analytics data is associated with a randomly generated, pseudonymous identifier — not with your name, email address, or any account (there are none). It is used solely to improve Verbazo. It is never used for advertising, never used to track you across other apps or websites, and never sold.
Your choice: analytics is controlled by the Analytics toggle in the app's Settings. Turning it off stops all analytics, session replay, and error reporting immediately. The app is fully functional with analytics off.
5. Session Replay
When analytics is enabled, the app may also capture pseudonymous session recordings — a visual playback of how screens are used — to help us find usability problems. Text and images are masked (redacted) in these recordings, so they show layout and interaction rather than your content. Session replay is covered by the same Settings → Analytics toggle and stops when you turn it off.
6. Crash & Error Reporting
When analytics is enabled, the app automatically reports crashes and unexpected errors so we can fix them. A report contains technical diagnostic information about the failure (such as the error type and where in the app it occurred) together with the same basic device information described above. Error reporting is covered by the same Settings → Analytics toggle.
7. Data We Do NOT Collect
Verbazo does not collect, request, or have access to:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials
- Your contacts, photos, files, or calendar
- Your precise or approximate location
- Your advertising identifier (IDFA / AAID)
- Audio, camera, or microphone recordings
- Any data used for advertising or for tracking you across other apps and websites
We do not sell or rent any data, and we do not share data with data brokers or advertisers.
8. A Note About the Microphone Permission
On some devices, the operating system may list a microphone entry for Verbazo. This is because the third-party audio libraries the app uses for playing sound effects link against the system audio framework, which requires the permission declaration to be present. Verbazo never records audio, never accesses the microphone, and will never ask you for microphone permission.
9. Notifications
Verbazo can remind you when verb forms are due for review. These reminders are scheduled entirely on your device from your local review schedule. There is no push-notification server: no notification token, schedule, or other data is sent anywhere. Notifications only appear if you grant the standard system permission, and you can disable them at any time in your device settings. The reminder time window is configurable in the app's Settings.
10. Purchases
Optional premium features are sold as in-app purchases. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see or store your payment card details, billing address, or purchase credentials. To unlock premium features, the app processes your subscription status through a subscription-management service provider acting on our behalf (Section 11): purchase receipts and subscription state, associated with a randomly generated identifier — never your identity or payment details. When analytics is enabled, purchase events (product, price, and currency — never payment details) are included in the analytics data described in Section 4. Refunds and payment questions are handled through Apple or Google under their terms.
11. Third-Party Service Providers
We use a small number of service providers, each acting only on our instructions:
- Analytics service providers — product usage data, session replay, and error reporting (Sections 4–6). These providers process the data solely on our behalf, are contractually bound to protect it, and may not use it for their own purposes. Data is currently hosted in the United States.
- Subscription management service provider — processes purchase receipts and subscription status on our behalf to unlock premium features (Section 10). Acts only on our instructions and may not use the data for its own purposes. Data is currently hosted in the United States.
- Apple Inc. — app distribution and in-app purchase processing on iOS. Privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Google LLC — app distribution and in-app purchase processing on Android. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
We do not share data with any other third parties, except where required by law.
12. International Data Transfers
Outrun Cyber Dynamics LLC is a US company, and analytics data (Sections 4–6) is processed on servers located in the United States. If you use the app from outside the US — including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland — this data is transferred to the US. Such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards, including our provider's contractual data-protection commitments (standard contractual clauses). Remember that all analytics can be disabled in Settings, in which case no analytics data is transferred at all. (Purchase processing, Section 10, only transfers data when you make or restore a purchase.)
13. Data Retention & Deletion
- On-device data (Section 3) remains on your device for as long as the app is installed. Deleting the app deletes it permanently. There is no copy anywhere else.
- Analytics data (Sections 4–6) is retained in our analytics provider's systems for as long as needed for product analysis, after which it is deleted per the provider's retention schedule.
- Purchase data (Section 10) is retained by our subscription-management service provider for as long as needed to maintain your subscription entitlement.
Because analytics data is pseudonymous and not linked to your identity, we generally cannot locate the specific records that belong to you. Turning off Settings → Analytics stops any further collection immediately. If you would like to request deletion of analytics data, contact us at hey@outrun.xyz and we will do our best to honor it with the information you can provide.
14. Legal Bases & Your Rights
Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the app for analytics, session replay, and error reporting (Sections 4–6) — always subject to the Settings → Analytics off switch, and to consent where local law requires it — and performance of a contract for processing purchases and providing the app's features (Section 10).
Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
You can exercise these rights by emailing hey@outrun.xyz. Please note the practical limits described in Section 13: because we hold no account or identity data, we may be unable to associate analytics records with you specifically, in which case we will explain what we can and cannot do. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA, and we do not discriminate against anyone for exercising their privacy rights.
15. Children's Privacy
Verbazo is a general-audience educational app and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app requires no account and collects no identity data, it holds no information that identifies any user, child or adult. If you believe a child has used the app and you have concerns, contact us at hey@outrun.xyz.
16. Security
Your learning data is stored in the app's private storage area on your device, protected by your device's built-in security (sandboxing and device encryption). Analytics data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but the app's minimal-data design — no accounts, no identity data, everything meaningful kept on your device — is itself our strongest safeguard.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when the app gains new features. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top and, where appropriate, highlight the change in the app or in the app-store release notes. Continued use of the app after a change means the updated policy applies.
